A la distinguida señorita María Latzina
Una blanca nubecilla
quiso velar, inocente,
la luz del sol refulgente,
que cual disco de oro brilla.
Mas, sin humillarla el sol,
filtró sus rayos por ella,
y para hacerla más bella
la encendió en áureo arrebol.

Como la nube del cielo
es tu modestia, María:
en vano ocultar ansía,
cual blanco, flotante velo,
el claro sol, sin capuz,
que centellea en tu mente
y en tu pensativa frente
quiebra su dorada luz.
De tu inteligencia el sol
filtra sus rayos por ella,
y para hacerla más bella
la enciende en áureo arrebol.
