Płacze chrzan na salaterce,
Aż się wszystkim kraje serce.
"Panie chrzanie,
Niech pan przestanie!"

Chudy seler płacze także,
Mówiąc czule: "Panie szwagrze,
Panie chrzanie,
Niech pan przestanie!"

Rozpłakała się włoszczyzna:
"Jak to można? Pan mężczyzna,
Panie chrzanie,
Niech pan przestanie!"

Pochlipuje bochen chleba:
"No, już dosyć! No, nie trzeba!
Panie chrzanie,
Niech pan przestanie!"

Ścierka łka nad salaterką:
"Niechże pan nie będzie ścierką,
Panie chrzanie,
Niech pan przestanie!"

Wszystkich żal ogarnął wielki,
Płaczą rondle i rondelki:
Panie chrzanie,
Niech pan przestanie!"

A chrzan na to: "Wolne żarty,
Płaczę tak, bo jestem tarty,
Lecz mi nie żal tego stanu,
A łzy wasze są do chrzanu!"
