Notes: Complete text of the book, with a brief introductory bio of Lewis (of unknown origin) appended to the front; unclear whether this was added by the compilers of the pdf, or was part of the printed text. If necessary for PD status, bio could be removed or replaced with Wikipedia EN text.

An alternate scan can be found at File:C._S._Lewis_-_Mere_Christianity.pdf. Both have differences in formatting. Since Lewis explicitly references use of italics in the following preface and the other file includes italics in it, it is believed that the alternate scan is a more accurate typographic representation. Scans of an original print would be appreciated for proofreading.

NOTE THAT: ONLY the short bio @ the start of the text, & the pdf-maker credits, is "new" material. EVERYTHING else is part of Lewis' original text. INCLUDING the rest of the preface(!)

(File has NOT been proof-read against the original text by Wikilivres editors)</text>
