There was an old widow of Wapping;
There is a sweet pretty coutry in Kent:
She heard that her friends had gone hopping,
And thought she'd go too. So she went.
Now this simple old dear,
Who was sixty - and plump,
Thought a hop, it is clear,
Is a one-lègged jump;
And thus she progressed - hop-hop-hop - hop -
through Wapping,
On - on - into sweet pretty Kent.
