La primavera ofrece
un nido á nuestras almas.
Viejo naranjo brinda
sus pétalos de nácar.
Despierta, más hermosa,
la selva solitaria:
palpita, vive y siente
ante la nueva savia.
Y Flora enardecida,
al luminar del alba,
ánfora de perfumes
en la extensión derrama.
Y el pájaro canoro,
batiendo alegre el ala,
del arroyuelo manso
apenas roza el agua.
Vago rumor extraño,
un eco de plegaria,
al corazón inquieta,
le anima y dice: «¡Ama!»
Ven á gozar la vida,
mi dueña americana,
la de mis rojos sueños,
mi ardiente fascinada.
