When I was old, and she was young,
With all the beauty hers —
I wooed her with a silver tongue,
With music for her ears;
And shall I now complain to find
That Beauty has so small a mind?
If this young Chit had had more sense
Would she have married me?
That she gave me the preference,
Proved what a fool was she:
Then let me die if I complain
That Beauty has too small a brain.
