Winter Sunset from an Eastbound Train |
| From The Canadian Forum, May 1921 |
<poem> Diana, swift Diana, by the fern glade, by the mountain. By the heather where we coursed the leaping hare. By the bow-string, by the arrow, by your cupped hands at the fountain. By the velvet, by the buck's bare horns I swear Your ways are wild as wind is, your locks were never bound By Verbius, five-fingered, as they tell. You loved me and me only, your lean grey hunting-hound And on his back your flashing whip-thongs fell!
