I ask not of high tide or low,
That ships may out of port or in;
When thou dost come, and not before,
Commerce doth on my mind begin.
Until I see thee come like spring,
My spirits' streams are locked in ice;
But navigation opens, Love,
As soon as I can hear thy voice.
Thy touch can launch a fleet of boats
Sunk to their decks with bales of bliss,
To take the tide of my blood-veins
Straight to my Heart's Metropolis.
