She changes oft - she laughs and weeps,
She smiles, and she can frown;
Should tears of sorrow fill her eyes,
Then laughter shakes them down:
The girl is mad - and yet I love her.
She smiles, and swears her jealousy
Would tear out my two eyes,
And make me swallow them by force:
These words are no strong lies,
For she is mad - and yet I love her.
"Ha, ha!" says she; "I've killed two men,
And you're the third I'll kill!"
If I keep time with her fierce love,
'Tis certain that she will:
The girl is mad - and yet I love her.
