Są prawdy, których nawet nie znają prorocy.
Ja, strudzony tęsknotą, odkrywam je w nocy.

Pierwsza prawda jest barwą, tą barwą różową,
Co jak skrzydło anioła krąży nad mą głową;

Druga prawda jest wonią. Ach, to woń jedyna,
Której się nie pamięta i nie zapomina;

Trzecia prawda to dotyk, co usta zamyka -
Z niepokoju umiera, kto ciała dotyka.

Te prawdy, których niebo poecie zazdrości,
Stanowią właśnie kłamstwo o twojej miłości.
