Wikilivres:License templates

By the end of May 2010 we changed the system of license templates. The goal was to create templates that automatically gives the proper license in every each year and further an unification of the templates. The old templates shoudn't be used any more (although they might be found on some pages that haven't been updated).

New system of license templates

The new templates listed bellow should be placed on the very bottom of the page.

Templates for authors

The template {{PD-pma}} should be used in the syntax

{{PD-pma|year of author's death}}

that automatically will update the template and change the license (e.g. from PD-old-50 to PD-old-70 etc.).

Templates for works

The template {{PD-pma-author}} should be used in the syntax

{{PD-pma-author|year of author's death}}

that automatically will update the template and change the license (e.g. from PD-old-50-author to PD-old-70-author etc.).

Templates for posthumous works

This is a special case when the criterion for a posthumous work is rather important then the years after the death of the author. This tag is to serve countries and areas copyrighting posthumous works based on how many years after posthumous publication to copyright.

The template {{PD-posthumous}} should be used in the syntax

{{PD-posthumous|year when a work was posthumously published}}

that automatically will update the template and change the license (e.g. from PD-posthumous-10 to PD-posthumous-25 etc.).

Translations

Please note that every translation is a copyrighted work as well. Thus if you will decide if a translated work is in public domain so you have to consider both the date of the death of the author and the date of the death of the translator. If the work is in public domain PD-old-70 according to the death of the author but in public domain PD-old-50 according to the death of the translator so the result is PD-old-50.

Old Templates

Please do not use old templates like {{PD-old-50}} or {{PD-old-70-author}} directly.
