User:Eclecticology tagged it with MediaWiki:Orphan because although the original author Romain Rolland is in the PD in Canada (having died in 1944), this work is translated by Catherine D. Groth and I can't find her death date. For what it's worth, she published in the 1900s through 1940s, so it seems likely that her work is PD by now. Does anyone else have any leads? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 16:20, 2 May 2015 (PDT)

Update She was evidently born in 1888. Again, very likely that she's PD by now. What does everyone else think? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 16:21, 2 May 2015 (PDT)
I essentially agree. That was part of my thinking for drafting MediaWiki:Orphan. It covers those situations where there is a high probability but no certainty of being PD. I accept the minimal legal risk associated with such pages. (I still haven't figured out how to make that notice blue like the other PD templates.) Eclecticology 16:59, 2 May 2015 (PDT)
Styling It has the blue background and semi-copyright picture with it now but I wonder why you made it in the MediaWiki namespace. Is it just so casual users can't edit it? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 20:46, 2 May 2015 (PDT)
Thanks for the fix. In using the Template and Mediawiki I was following practices that predate my involvement with the site. My understanding is that simplifies the internationalization process. I'm quite flexible on this if you think it can be improved. Eclecticology 01:25, 3 May 2015 (PDT)
If she was born in 1888, i tis entirely possible that she lived until at least age 78 hence died in 1966 or later.--Poetlister 14:44, 13 February 2016 (PST)
Good faith I think that we've made good faith efforts and while it is possible that her work is still in copyright, it's not likely. I feel good about keeping this here. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 19:33, 13 February 2016 (PST)

The author died in 1996, so they are still copyrighted. Electron ツ ➧☎ 07:45, 29 February 2016 (PST)

The first paragraph Biographie de Georges Politzer was written by Georges Cogniot (1901-1978), next Préface was written by Maurice Le Goas (1901-1989); so they are still copyrighted and should be deleted from the work. Electron ツ ➧☎ 09:38, 1 March 2016 (PST)
